Eero Aarnio
Designer
Eero Aarnio (born 1932) is a legendary Finnish designer best known for his futuristic, playful, and boundary-breaking approach to furniture. A pioneer of plastic furniture and a key figure in 1960s modernism, Aarnio’s work combines function, sculpture, and whimsy in equal measure.
He rose to international fame with his Ball Chair (1963) and Bubble Chair (1968), both of which helped define the space-age aesthetic. His creations often blur the line between furniture and art, embracing bold colors, organic shapes, and childlike imagination.
