Unicafurn was born from the passion and creative spirit of our founder, Hugo Zhou. A graduate of Politecnico di Milano, Hugo spent his student years reimagining and modifying furniture—chairs, tables, storage cabinets, and even carts—all as personal projects that filled his small apartment with uniquely designed pieces. For Hugo, every creation was a moment of self-expression, a tangible reminder of the dreams he held dear.

After graduation, rather than settling into a conventional career, Hugo devoted himself to meaningful design projects that improved everyday life. He poured his heart into creating accessible public facilities, like anti-slip ramps for disabled users and braille-enhanced handrails in public spaces. These experiences taught him that even small, thoughtful changes can have a profound impact on people’s lives.

Returning to his home country with a renewed sense of purpose, Hugo founded Unicafurn to bring his refined design philosophy to everyday living. What began as a one-man workshop has since blossomed into a thriving enterprise with three showrooms and a team of 100. Throughout this journey, our commitment has remained unchanged: to offer high-quality, emotionally resonant furniture that merges classic design with modern functionality—all at an affordable price. Inspired by the transformative vision of brands like Patagonia and Xiaomi, we believe that true design should not only elevate your space but also enrich your life.

As we grew, so did our sense of responsibility—to not just create, but to honor. At Unicafurn, we pay tribute to the timeless legacy of iconic furniture designers and the enduring spirit of mid-century modern design. Our Inspired are not mere imitations, but carefully studied and respectfully recreated works—each piece is 1:1 precision-molded from the originals, then rigorously tested and refined. From structure to surface, from curvature to proportion, we faithfully restore these once-discontinued masterpieces—elevating their materials, optimizing performance, and preserving the soul of their form.

In parallel, we’ve dedicated over five years to mastering modular furniture—particularly inspired by the iconic USM Haller system. By acquiring, dissecting, and experimenting with a wide range of components and accessories, we’ve developed our own advanced manufacturing process. Today, Unicafurn proudly operates a specialized factory for modular furniture production. From upgraded finishes and polished luster, to tighter joins and smoother precision, our commitment is clear: every detail deserves excellence, every connection deserves care.
